When you come to study with us, you receive in-depth advice and assistance with your career development. We want you to achieve your ambitions, make the most out of your experiences, develop your skills and to help you manage your future career.

What can you expect from your Careers Service?

Our Careers Service offers a wide range of support to help you throughout every step of your journey. We will ensure you are exposed to the best possible options for work-experience and career opportunities from your first year right through to graduation.

Many of our services can be tailored to suit your career path of choice. You can expect to receive bespoke support from our team, that reflects the style of interview and CV that is required for your route of choice.

The Careers Service offers the following services:

1-2-1 Appointments

Our Career Consultants are here to offer you career guidance face-to-face and virtually. These flexible appointments can take place throughout the day or in the evenings and are designed to fit around your studies. Each appointment is completely bespoke, to suit your needs and the sector you are interested in.

Appointments can cover the following:

  • Career planning
  • CV writing
  • Cover letter and application reviews
  • Mock interviews
  • Enterprise activities
  • Psychometric test practices

Whilst you are studying with us, you will receive unlimited access to our online Careers Portal, QA Higher Education Careers Online, full of helpful resources including employer videos and practice psychometric tests.

We also put together a weekly newsletter, highlighting current job opportunities as well as on-campus workshops and events in your local area. Find out more about networking opportunities and employed-led events, alongside upcoming recruitment simulations, to help you prepare for assessment centres.

The Internship and Placement Service help you obtain industry-related work-experience, as well as paid work (subject to visa restrictions). Whether this is part of your Advance Practice Masters or to develop your employability skills outside of your studies, our team are on hand to offer you support and guidance with finding placements.

You can now access your online careers portal from any computer, tablet or via our new app!

Careers Online gives you 1-click access to all of your career resources, so you can develop your employability skills on the go. You can also use the app to book appointments, sign-up to events and receive work experience opportunities. Getting online is easy, just follow the steps below:

On your smartphone:
Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

On your computer or tablet:
Type the URL: qahecareersonline.careercentre.me into your browser and click “my profile” to generate your code. Enter the code along with your username (email address) on the login page to access the content.

Juliette Chase - Head of Careers

Juliette works alongside her team to provide careers and employability services across all campuses. Juliette has worked in various careers settings including at Roehampton University, where she set-up and ran the only faculty careers service in Law.

On joining QA Higher Education in 2017 her first job was to set-up the service and build the team. Juliette is responsible for strategic developments of the service but still loves to work with students and help them achieve their career ambitions; as her team will testify, nothing pleases Juliette more than finding a rogue comma in an application form or CV.

Anuja Basra

Anuja works to support and enhance the career journey for students across all campuses. Anuja developed a passion for helping students during her time as a Careers Advisor in secondary school. Since then, she joined QA Higher Education in 2018 as a Careers Officer and has since trained and developed her way up as a Manager; working daily to support her team to deliver career advice and guidance. You may find yourself in a 1-2-1 appointment with her, or even tuned in to one of her regular workshops.

Petya is the Careers Campus Manager for QAHE working with students across our London, Manchester and Birmingham Campuses. She is responsible for delivering careers advice and guidance, and career development learning to students across university partnerships. Petya has more than 6 years of experience working in Higher Education, where she has worked with both Postgraduate and Undergraduate students. She has previous experience working with both students and employers in variety of roles for number of universities such as UCL and Liverpool John Moores. Petya enjoys working and supporting students with their careers journey, and is really keen to develop action plans to further support career development within learning and teaching for QAHE.

Eleni Charalambous

Eleni is one of the Senior Careers & Employability Specialists within the Careers Service at QAHE supporting our London students. She has previously experience within the higher education sector having worked within a different team in the company, before joining the Careers Service last November. She is the first point of contact for all students attending the London campus, providing them with support on CV and cover letter writing, job searching activities, scheduling 1:1 appointments with Career Consultants, and any other career related queries. Eleni also supports the Internships Team alongside her duties within the Careers Service.

Humera Aftab

Humera is a Senior Careers and Employability Specialist supporting our Birmingham and Manchester students. She has previous experience as a Job Coach where she has managed a caseload of jobseekers and supported them with employment and overcoming any barriers to employment. This included working intensively on a 1:1 basis assisting job seekers with job searching, CV and cover letter writing, interview preparation and job applications. Humera supports QAHEs students with CV and cover letter writing, job searching activities, scheduling 1:1 appointments with Career Consultants and any other career related queries. Humera also supports the Internships Team alongside her duties within the Careers Service.

Tasmin Begum

Tasmin is an Internship Coordinator who is responsible for overseeing the development of internships. Her role consists of record keeping, to workflow scheduling and planning. Since joining QA Higher Education in 2018, she has worked across different teams from coordinating the planning to application and evaluation of postgraduate student recruitment activities.

At QA Higher Education, we believe that all students should have the chance to succeed and Tasmin strongly believes that successful students become successful adults and therefore she is very passionate about equipping students with the tools and resources needed to prepare for success!
