This past month saw the launch of two new events: QA Higher Education hosted its first Employability Booster Event for the alumni of University of Roehampton Centres and Ulster University, while Northumbria University London launched its Enterprise Experience Event. Both events were aimed at helping students with progression in both their careers and personal development.
Employability Booster Event
Specifically aimed at recent graduates, this event was created to support our students’ education and career progression even after they have completed their studies with us. We understand the importance of equipping our Alumni with the right tools to support them within the world of work, and believe that this event was a great step in the right direction.
Delivered by a professional QA Trainer, alumni took part in an engaging and detailed Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint training session, giving each individual an insight into new skills and a better understanding of how to most effectively use these platforms. These are skills that our alumni will be able to take with them and use in their careers.
Northumbria University London Enterprise Experience Event
On Saturday 22nd June 2019, we saw the launch of the first ever Northumbria University Enterprise Experience Event.
30 budding entrepreneurial students joined us for the day and were faced with a series of exciting challenges. From developing a business idea to then pitching it to a panel of judges, they had their work cut out for them. Divided into teams, our students worked successfully to create innovative business concepts and ideas, giving them the great opportunity to explore their entrepreneurial drive and aspirations, as well as the option of networking with like-minded individuals in a fun, creative and opportune environment.
The selection of academic professionals that also attended had a wealth of knowledge in different aspects of enterprise, and were able to deliver insightful workshops to our students. This ensured that they all left with the energy, drive, skills and knowledge to consider their own enterprise journey.
Speaking to some of the students after the event, many left with a clearer understanding of enterprise skills and the value that they hold within the workplace, proving the success of the event.
