QA Higher education is thrilled to introduce a new suite of MSc programmes in partnership with Ulster University’s- London and Birmingham campus. The rapid advancements in AI, big data and technology on the whole, has propelled the demand for skilled professionals in technology jobs. Currently, only 33% of these jobs worldwide is filled with skilled labour, resulting in a resounding dearth in talent. To support this growing demand and help bridge the gap, the new MSc programmes in Computer Science and Technology (with) is curated to give students an edge in today’s quickly evolving, digital job market. 

The MSc in Computer Science and Technology (with) equips students in Big Data and Data Mining, Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling (including topics such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) and Scalable Software Solutions leveraging Cloud Infrastructure.  

The new courses include: 

Each with an intake in January, May and September. 

Powering Potential 

Currently more than half of organisations (55%) are facing digital data skill shortages. And, according to research by the International Monetary Fund, by 2030, the global shortage of tech workers will represent an $8.5 trillion loss in annual revenue. 

To create an influx of skilled labour to meet this growing demand we have introduced the MSc in Computer Science and Technology (with). The programme focuses on developing core skills and competencies, including familiarising students with programmes like OpenStack, Amazon Web Services, Azure, and more. This will equip students to take on a varied set of roles like: 

  • Software Engineers 
  • Software Developers 
  • IT Engineers 
  • IT Project ad Programme Managers 
  • Machine Learning Engineers 
  • Artificial Intelligence Practitioners 
  • Data Scientists 
  • Deep Learning Engineers 
  • Researcher/Academic 

Additionally, students choosing the Advance Practice route will benefit from work-based learning experiences such as internships, consultancy projects and professional practice, giving them an additional edge for employability prospects.  

What to expect from the MSc in Computer Science and Technology (with) courses 

The MSc in Computer Science and Technology (with) courses are designed to be practical, interactive, and focused on real-world applications and skills. Students choosing the Advance Practice route will benefit from work-based learning experiences in the form of internships, consultancy projects and professional practice. Furthermore, students can expect thoroughly researched modules, giving them an in depth understanding of Big Data & Infrastructure, Deep Learning and its Application, Knowledge Engineering, Scalable Advanced Software Solutions and more. On graduating, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to work in areas such as Software Engineering and Developing, IT Engineers and Project Managers, Machine Learning Engineers and more with a median advertised salary of £50.1K.
