As an education provider, one of our key priorities is to ensure access to learning. More than ever now as circumstances across the globe continue to evolve and adapt in response to Covid-19.

Not only have our teams been continuing to transition our students to online learning, ensuring that they still have access to all of the support needed, but we’ve been busy preparing a new programme too!

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new online Pre-Sessional English (PSE) programme available to students who are looking to develop their English language abilities ready to study at a UK university from September 2020.

Students on our PSE programme can progress onto their chosen foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate degrees at our university partners. This is subject to successful completion and achieving all other conditions of their offer. Please visit the course page below for more information.

Offering 5, 10 and 15 week options, students will be able to join a programme that best matches their current English language level and desired exit level supporting their continued progression. Students will be able to familiarise themselves with British culture and develop their confidence in an English-speaking academic environment with a mix of academic and social activities.

Ruth Perkins, Director of Pathways at QA Higher Education says “With the continued global lockdown, we’ve seen the challenges that students have faced when trying to access the necessary learning and assessment required to join a University here in the UK. So it’s been fantastic to work with our learning and recruitment professionals to launch a Pre-Sessional English programme that allows students to continue to realise this aim.

“Our fully online PSE not only has a final assessment benchmarked against the Common European Regulatory Framework (CEFR), but also a mechanism to help students start a PSE and develop their English language competence, even if they haven’t been able to get to an approved testing centre.”

Launched as a fully online programme, classes and drop-in sessions will be scheduled at times to ensure access for students in different time zones.

We are also offering a route into university study for the January 2021 intake with a 20-week study option, starting in June with further 15, 10 and 5-week options.

This programme allows us to display two of our biggest strengths “our highly qualified English for Academic Purposes tutors who are experienced in helping PSE students transition to their target degree, and our expertise in online teaching and learning.”
