Professor Hamid Jahankhani
Programme Leader for Cyber Security, University of Northumbria
London Campus

Hamid obtained a PhD from the Queen Mary College, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics, University of London and also became the first Professor of Information Security and Cyber Criminology at UEL in 2010. Hamid’s principal research area for a number of years has been in the field of cyber security, information security and digital forensics and is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics and general chair of the annual International Conference on Global Security, Safety and Sustainability (ICGS3). Hamid has edited and contributed to over 25 books and has over 200 conference and journal publications on cyber criminology, cyber abuse, Cyber Defence, digital transformation, Blockchain, governance, Smart Societies and Augmented Humanity together with various blogs and BBC radio interviews.

 

Jo Dennison
Head of ACE (Academic Community of Excellence) & Academic Dean Learner Skills Development, QA Higher Education

Jo is the Head of ACE (Academic Community of Excellence), who along with her team provide out of class guidance on academic subjects such as academic writing and referencing as well as maths and computing support. In addition to her extensive teaching and managerial experience, she has also gained business experience in HR, administration and sales. When she’s not teaching, she loves to read and watch Speedway live.

 

Chris Neale
Transformation Director, QA

Chris has a background in operational roles, supporting businesses to scale at pace and use digital solutions that achieve business goals. He has ranged from scaling an offshore team in Kerala, India, to risk management of an organisation marking and grading 2m+ exam scripts. In his current role Chris has grown a team delivering world class training and learning, to 300+ roles, and then implemented a digital tool that step-changed learner outcomes. Using technology to improve the learner journey is his passion, that he continues to apply on an ongoing basis in how QA provides services to learners.

Alana Foster
Communications Manager, QA Higher Education

Alana Foster is an experienced reporter and communications professional. She currently works as the Communications Manager and Diversity and Inclusion Champion at QA Higher Education where she specialises in internal and external comms, social media and stakeholder management. Alana has a Master’s in Journalism and studied a Bachelor of Communications, Media and Culture from the University of South Australia where she was born and raised. Prior to joining QA, she worked in PR and as a journalist interviewing C-level executives including the Prince of the Netherlands and Sir Martin Sorrell.
