QA Higher Education are pleased to announce an addition of the International Year One Business at our Solent University Pathway College. This represents an expansion of our existing offering to international students wishing to study in the UK with Solent University.
The International Year One Business is the equivalent of the first year of a standard undergraduate degree and features additional English language support, academic study skills and business specific units so as to develop international students the ability to study in a UK institution and integrate into UK academic culture.
It is an intensive 1 year programme and is designed with the intention of allowing students enough time to settle into their new setting at a UK university. As such, units are taught over 2 terms and assessments are weighted toward the end of the programme.
The course introduces students to a range of business areas such as marketing, accounting, economics and management which develops their subject knowledge, skills and confidence to progress onto the second year of an undergraduate degree at Solent.
Commenting on the launch, Director of International Recruitment Joy Musa said “we are very excited to offer an International Year One at Solent University Pathway, allowing students to develop their English and subject specific skills in an intense but effective programme. The target degrees available at Solent are industry-focused and made for entry into exciting sectors.”
Students on this programme can progress onto a range of industry-focused degrees at Solent University from Events Management to International Tourism Management.
The International Year One Business is taught at our Pathway College at Solent University, Southampton and we look forward to welcoming our first intake in September.
