QA ranked 101 in network of top private companies

QA Group is delighted to announce that we have climbed the ranks of the 14th Annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top 250 list of private companies, rising 11 places to 101 since last year.

Standing alongside the likes of other impressive brands such as The RAC, Virgin Active, Addison Lee and Civica, the league table sees QA ranked as one of Britain’s best private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales real recognition of what a fantastic year QA has had.

Commenting on the ranking CEO William Macpherson, said: “It is very exciting to be the only education and training business to rank in this prestigious list and even more so when you consider our rise on last year. We have had another fantastic year at QA and I put this down to a number of factors. Firstly our focus on quality, which clearly sets us apart from our competitors.”

QA recently announced the appointment of Tom O’Reilly to the role of Chief Learner Officer the position is unique to QA, and will have the sole responsibility of continuing to deliver upon its core commitment of giving learners the best quality experience.

Macpherson continued: “Our success is also a result of the exciting sector we operate in. Technology is driving global societal change and it is skilled people that are driving that technology. QA is (and always has been) there with them, empowering people with the skills to create and use new technology, the skills to operate in digitally-driven businesses, and the skills to lead in a digital world. That is at the core of why we are growing at the rate we are and it is great that Grant Thornton formally recognise the exciting levels of growth in the UK mid-market.

QA’s rise in the rankings is as a result of an impressive year of revenue growth. Last year saw revenues rise by 18%, making QAs annual turnover well in excess of £250m.

Rachel Engwell, Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP, the title sponsor of the league table, said:

“Advances in robotics and artificial intelligence, the pervasive challenge of cybercrime, and the uncertain impacts of Brexit are among the significant issues facing Britain today. If we are to continue turning innovative ideas into businesses with international scale, we all need to play our part in shaping a vibrant economy that thrives. In this, the role of the mid-market is crucial. Resilient despite the headwinds, the Top Track 250 are innovating, winning business and adapting to generate value. There is much to learn from them.”
