The impact international students have on the UK Economy:
As well as enriching our campuses and creating a diverse and multicultural community, international students remain a significant net contributor to the UK economy.
Recent figures show over the period from 2018/19 to 2021/22, international students contribution soared from £31.3 billion to £41.9 billion. Their spending also stimulates various sectors, including hospitality, retail, accommodation, and transportation, creating job opportunities and bolstering local businesses.
This reaffirms their status as invaluable and that our students play a crucial role in maintaining the UK’s economic stability and growth.
