QA Higher Education is delighted to announce a further expansion of our programme portfolio. In partnership with London Metropolitan University, we now offer a Health and Social Care BSc (Hons) programme (also available with foundation year), with the first intake in April 2021.
There is strong evidence for the rising demand for jobs in the UK’s health and social care industry. In 2019, the Health Foundation reported that there were nearly 122,000 openings in health and social care. This deficit is expected to continue growing, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and further staff shortages caused by the UK’s departure from the EU.
Successful completion of our Health and Social Care BSc (Hons) programme opens up a range of employment opportunities within the NHS itself or in NHS funded initiatives for graduates. Career options are not limited to the NHS, with a wealth of opportunities across independent sectors, charity organisations or housing associations.
Accreditation with the Chartered Institute for Housing further boosts the appeal of this programme to prospective employers.
Tim Harris, Executive Dean at QA Higher Education, commented on the launch:
“We’re thrilled to be expanding our portfolio into a new subject area for us, Health and Social Care, and further strengthening our undergraduate offer with London Metropolitan University. This course is very timely and offers students the opportunity to develop valuable and in-demand skills in a sector where there is a publicised skills-gap and plenty of career options for graduates.”
The first intake for this programme is April 2021 and will be available in our London Holborn, Birmingham and Manchester centres. For more information, please visit the course pages below.
